Sinen Libraries

A book can open a world.

A library can change a future.

Daro Library, Ethiopia

We turn empty rooms in Ethiopian schools into libraries children love.

Working with local education offices and the schools themselves, Sinen brings books, shelves and space to read to students who had none.

Why we do this

Every child deserves a library.

A book in a child's hands can change what they believe is possible.

We don't build new rooms. We transform the ones schools already have.

  1. Step 1

    Find the room.

With the local education office, we choose schools with an unused room and students without books.

  2. Step 2

    Make it a library.

Shelves, reading tables and painted walls turn an empty space into a room children want to be in.

  3. Step 3

    Fill the shelves.

Books chosen for the school's students, so every child can borrow and read.

Sponsor a library

Give a whole school its first library.

A family, company or community group can fund a library, from empty room to full shelves.

The future in the making.

Help the next school open its library.
